The Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) Education Committee Organizes a One-day Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Workshop
Theme: “Fundamentals of Physiotherapy in Best Practice Patient Care: Part 1”

Workshop Topics:
►Elements of Best Practice;
►Importance of Standard of Practice for Physiotherapy in Nigeria;
►Basic Elements of Physiotherapy Service;
►Key Performance Indicators and Quality Improvement Programmes in Physiotherapy Service
►First Contact System versus Referral System for Physiotherapy Patient/ Client care.
The workshop also features a detailed presentation and practical sessions by an international resource person on:
► Manual and Electronic Traction techniques in Spinal Disorders.
►Electrotherapy: Diagnostics and Therapy in peripheral nerve damage.

Physiotherapists are highly encouraged to attend this work as full attendance attracts 12 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points which are part of essential requirements for practicing license renewal for next year.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to
1) Design the following time saving forms for their practice settings:
INITIAL ASSESSMENT
PROGRESS NOTES
HEALTH EDUCATION/COUNSELLING
HOME PROGRAMME
EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION
2) Develop GENERAL and SPECIFIC PROCEDURE GUIDES for most common conditions in their practice settings.
3) Develop KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) and QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMMES (QIPs).
4) Use of outcome measures will become a "must - do" part of practice.
5) NIGERIA SOCIETY OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (NSP) would be driven to have an NSP Standard of Practice (SOP) as most member organizations of World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT).
This workshop is a "should attend" for all ALL PHYSIOTHERAPISTs especially HODs, PRIVATE PRACTITIONERS, others who would put those in their Units or Departments through the "rigors" of producing a procedure guide for their institutions at one time or the other.
