Dr Olajide A. Olawale has been appointed Associate Professor of Physiotherapy by the College of Medicine, University of Lagos recently.The appointment was made effective from 1st October,2012. The erudite scholar and endearing role model to many started his journey in the profession of physiotherapy over three decades ago. He graduated from the University of Lagos, Akoka in June 1981 with B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) and obtained a postgraduate degree with an M.Ed (Exercise Physiology) at the University of Ibadan in 1986. He obtained his Ph.D degree in 2009. He joined the academic staff of the University of Lagos in 1997 and has since become a teacher of many. 

Dr Olawale has served at the College of Medicine in various capacities and has constantly advocated and displayed passion for continuous self and professional development. He was the recipient of the Commonwealth Secretariat grant to assist the University of Ghana in planning and running the B.Sc. Physiotherapy program. He has supervised several undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and theses. He has also served the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy with sterling qualities and dedication over the years; notably as Chairman, Education Committee (2001-2004; 2009-2010). He has attended over 30 local and international conferences and workshops and presented papers at many of them. He has about 35 publications in peer-reviewed local and international journals.
