Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy interphase with Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria and Federal Ministry of Health on policy issues

On the 22nd of September, 2022, there was a high-profile meeting which included the attendance of our indefatigable National President, Her Excellency Dr Nnenna Nina Chigbo, PT, the Honourable Minister of Health for State, Hon. Ekumankama Joseph Nakama, the Registrar of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria - Dr Olufunke Akanle, PT PhD, and the Chairman of the Governing Council of the MRTB - Dr Udo Udom, PT.

The meeting took place at the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja in response to the published communique of the Ordinary General Meeting of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy were a plethora of issues bordering on the exorbitant hike of the license fees, brain drain and the hosting of the upcoming national scientific conference, amongst others.

It was indeed a very productive meeting which involves the principal players in steering the ship of the Physiotherapy profession, resolutions were made and ongoing consultations will continue to reach final decisions that will benefit every Physiotherapist. The NSP is committed to representing and fighting for all Physiotherapists in Nigeria.
