International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), 3 December 2020

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is annually observed on 3 December to promote the full and equal participation of persons with disabilities and to take action for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society and development.

This year, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities will be commemorated throughout the week of 30 November- 4 December in conjunction with the 13th have session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The theme of this year is “Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World”. The world is fighting a pandemic which has affected everyone, but more pronounced among PWD.

The Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy Neurophysiotherapy Specialty Group (NSPNSG), a subgroup of International Neurological Physiotherapy Association (INPA) joins the whole world to celebrate the IDPD.

We align with efforts of the World Physiotherapy, INPA and the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy aimed at improving inclusiveness of, ensuring (re)integration of and delivering best quality rehabilitation to Persons with Disabilities.

The NSPNSG hope to adopt the programmes highlighted by the NSP on PWD and ensure we participate in all projects by NSP.

Together we can be build back better.
