Rundown of Events by NSP to Mark the IDPD 2020 max-h-[350px]

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is observed annually on 3rd December to promote the full and equal participation of persons with disabilities and to take action for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society and development.

This year, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was commemorated throughout the week of 30 November- 4 December.

The theme of this year was “Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World”. The world is fighting a pandemic which has affected everyone, but more pronounced among PWD.

The following are some of the activities by NSP to commemorate the IDPD 2020:

1. The NSP commemorated the IDPD by hosting a Press Conference and Stakeholders Forum. The NSP President read a press release at the international Press Conference and stakeholders Forum of Organizations involved with PWD. Here is link  to the recording. Passcode:#BY59NBw

2. Interview on Petals FM on Human Point, 10.30-11am. Dr Femi Ogundapo, PT was on air to discuss the theme of the year at Petals FM, Ibadan courtesy OYNSP and NSPNSG: http://www.petalsfm.com.ng

3. The NSPNSG Chairman's (Dr. Olumide Dada) Speech for 2020 Celebration was shared on the NSP website.

4. The NSPNSG was in tandem with the INPA to celebrate the event, we shared every information from the international office.
5. Live streaming radio show by Dr Chioma Ezeifeh, PT, Health campaigner and Director of XPAT Physiotherapy Services, Port Harcourt on December 3rd 2020 on Wazobia FM 94.1 Port Harcourt. You can also watch here 

6. Physiotherapists demanded revisit of legislation protecting persons with disabilities via this newspaper publication.

This event was powered by Dr Chibuike Mbamalu, PT led Abuja chapter of NSP.
